Ted is 15, and ... oh yes ... tall.
When she's spotted by a model agency, she can't believe it.
At the same time, Ted's fashionista sister, Ava, is diagnosed with cancer. With her world turned upside down, Ted has a lot of growing up to do, some of it in five-inch platforms. Should she be the model sister for Ava? Life in front of the camera is harder than it looks. And will she still be smiling when it’s over?
From the award-winning author of the THREADS series comes a bittersweet story about looking beyond what’s skin-deep and two sisters brought together by love and looks, Burberry and baldness.
Published March 2012.

Ted is used to feeling self-conscious and in the background. Unlike her gorgeous and popular sister, Ava. So when she is out busking with her sister she can hardly believe that a modelling agency spots her and not her sister or some beach babe. But freaky mono brow Ted.

When Ava is diagnosed with cancer, Ted will do anything to keep her older sister happy. So when she discovers that Model City is the real deal. She eventually agrees to Ava's wishes that she go into the office and speak to the agency. Which gives her ill sister happiness and distraction. When she does she is told that they still hold their offer and would love to do a test shoot. She agrees after Ava convinces her to.

Not only was this book an extremely amazing read but it taught me a lot about just being who you are and appreciating the little things in life that matter the most. It's about looking at bigger picture and being true to who you are and your morals. That you don't have to dream of the person you want to become, to be that person and live out your inner most desires.

I admired the strength and integrity of Ted and Ava and I particularly enjoyed a specific scene between them that was really special and personal. Spoiler Alert: I thought that the scene were they got they got their hair shaved together because fashionista Ava's hair was falling out was really brave. I loved how that special moment transformed them into Gabrielle and Zena, 2 strong and determined Warrior Princesses.

I really liked the lead male characters. Ava's gorgeous surfer/sailor boyfriend Jesse was basically your dream boy. Then there was Nick and Dean. Dean comes across as your typical "I'm to cool for you" mean boy. Nick is a photographer and son of Model City owner Cassandra Spoke. He is know as nightmare boy, cute but mean and insensitive. But as the story continues we see them change into like able characters.

For all the people who hate modelling, well it came in at just the right temperature. It was really interesting to read about actually, and you get to see both opinions and sides of modelling.

The story was endearing and engaging. It was so hard to put down the pink book with pink edges. Author Sophia Bennett has created heart-warming and inspiring novel that will leave you feeling empowered and bring families together. I loved this book so much and highly recommend it.

My Rating for The Look: 5/5 Stars
